Built-In Microchip
Onboard digital intelligence stores sensor type, serial number, and calibration data including date, time, offset, slope, probe condition, and buffers used. When the HI12300 is connected to a Hanna edge® meter, this information is retrieved automatically so probes can be swapped without recalibration. All pH measurements occur inside the electrode and are sent digitally to the meter, reducing electrical noise that can appear with analog systems, built-in temperature sensors, or humid field conditions.
Spherical Glass Tip
A wide-contact spherical bulb increases sample surface area for faster response and more stable readings. The general-purpose glass formulation has a resistance of about 100 megaohms, which is optimized for ambient temperatures. High- or low-temperature glass used at room temperature can slow response or shorten electrode life.
Double Junction Reference
Silver stays isolated from the sample because the Ag/AgCl reference wire sits in an inner compartment while the outer electrolyte remains silver-free. Virtually no silver ions enter the measured solution, making the HI12300 suitable where silver contamination is undesirable or silver precipitates are likely to form at the junction.
PEI Electrode Body
Rugged PEI (polyetherimide) construction delivers the chemical resistance of glass in an unbreakable plastic housing built for field and industrial use. Shielding around the spherical glass tip helps prevent breakage from accidental bumps or drops, and the PEI body resists many harsh chemicals.
Built-In Temperature Sensor
A thermistor in the sensing tip provides a high-accuracy temperature reading as close as possible to the pH glass. That proximity allows proper compensation for temperature effects on membrane potential, producing reliable temperature-compensated pH results with the HI12300 digital PEI body electrode.
