Keep your HI97708 ready for the next sample

Choose HI93708-01 for 100 tests or HI93708-03 for 300 tests. These genuine Hanna reagents replenish nitrite high range sample testing with the HI97708 and other explicitly matched photometers. The instrument, cuvettes, caps and CAL Check standards are sold separately.

Hanna prepares this chemistry with high-purity chemicals and marks the reagent packaging with a lot number and expiration date for traceability. Select the test count that fits your sample workload; the pack size does not change the measurement range.

Matched chemistry for a defined photometer method

Ferrous sulfate chemistry develops a color response for high range nitrite measurement.

The HI97708 method measures 0 to 150 mg/L as NO₂⁻. These are high range nitrite reagents, not HI93707 low range nitrite reagents or HI708-25 Checker reagents. The HI97708 reports nitrite as NO₂⁻; nitrite-nitrogen (NO₂⁻-N) and sodium nitrite are alternate chemical forms, not interchangeable numeric units.

Model-manual verified compatibility: HI83300, HI83303, HI83305, HI83306, HI83314, HI83399, HI97708. Use only the matching instrument method; this is not universal Hanna-meter compatibility.

A straightforward HI97708 sample workflow

For the HI97708, fill a clean cuvette with 10 mL of unreacted sample, fit the stopper and cap, and zero the meter. Add one packet of HI93708-0, replace the stopper and cap, and shake gently until the powder dissolves. Return the cuvette in the correct orientation and use the 10-minute countdown before reading. Reaction times are specified at 25 °C; follow the manual for temperature adjustments.

Keep the cuvette exterior clean and dry and avoid bubbles. Review the Safety Data Sheet before use and follow appropriate handling and disposal procedures. Manufacturer reference photographs show illustrative packaging only. Visible printed dates do not describe the supplied stock expiry; check the actual lot and expiration date on receipt.

What is included and what to have ready

Each selected pack supplies pre-measured powder packets for the stated 100 or 300 tests. Have a HI97708 photometer, suitable clean glass cuvettes with stoppers and caps, a water sample and the accessories required by the method ready separately. CAL Check standards verify the instrument; they do not replace reagents used to react with actual samples.

Choose your pack

HI93708-01 provides 100 tests for lower-volume replenishment. HI93708-03 provides 300 tests for a larger sample workload using the same chemistry. Consider expected usage and the expiration date on the supplied reagent before selecting a pack.

Shipping note: Hanna classifies these nitrite high range reagents as Dangerous Goods and limits shipment to ground service. Review the US Safety Data Sheet before use.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between HI93708-01 and HI93708-03?

HI93708-01 supplies reagent for 100 tests; HI93708-03 supplies reagent for 300 tests. Both use the same HI93708-0 chemistry. The larger pack changes test capacity, not the method range.

Which instruments are verified for this reagent?

The model manuals list these reagent packs for HI83300, HI83303, HI83305, HI83306, HI83314, HI83399, HI97708. Select the matching method and follow your exact model manual; compatibility is not claimed for all Hanna meters.

What range and units apply?

The HI97708 method covers 0 to 150 mg/L as NO₂⁻. Use NO₂⁻ units when comparing this range. An alternate NO₂⁻-N display expresses a different chemical form; this is not the low range nitrite method.

How much sample and reagent do I use?

The HI97708 method uses 10 mL of sample and One packet of HI93708-0 per test. Zero using the unreacted sample first. Check the exact model manual for complete preparation and measurement instructions.

How do I mix and read the sample?

For the HI97708, fill a clean cuvette with 10 mL of unreacted sample, fit the stopper and cap, and zero the meter. Add one packet of HI93708-0, replace the stopper and cap, and shake gently until the powder dissolves. Return the cuvette in the correct orientation and use the 10-minute countdown before reading. Reaction times are specified at 25 °C; follow the manual for temperature adjustments.

Can I substitute low range nitrite or Checker reagents?

These are high range nitrite reagents, not HI93707 low range nitrite reagents or HI708-25 Checker reagents. The HI97708 reports nitrite as NO₂⁻; nitrite-nitrogen (NO₂⁻-N) and sodium nitrite are alternate chemical forms, not interchangeable numeric units.

What is included, and is the meter supplied?

Only the selected reagent pack is supplied: pre-measured powder packets with capacity for 100 or 300 tests. The meter, cuvettes, caps, stoppers, cleaning accessories and CAL Check standards are not included. No meter or calibration standard is supplied.

What should I check before handling or choosing a pack?

Match HI93708-0 to the instrument method, choose a test count appropriate for your workload, and check the actual lot number and expiration date. Review the linked US Safety Data Sheet and use appropriate handling and disposal procedures. Manufacturer photos may show illustrative older packaging dates.
