Is Halo an adjustable single-channel pipette?
Yes. Halo is an adjustable mechanical single-channel pipette family with ten separate volume ranges. The family spans 0.1 µL to 10 mL, but no single pipette covers that entire span. Choose one model with the range required by your protocol; each pipettor option is one selected pipettor. The H6800-SK starter kit bundles four ranges with a carousel stand.
What does DriftGuard do?
MTC Bio describes a click-based adjustment wheel with DriftGuard protection alongside a four-digit micrometer display for volume selection. It does not replace checking the set volume before use.
Which Halo pipette should I choose for 1000 µL transfers?
H6800-1M covers 100–1000 µL, while H6800-1MXL covers 200–1250 µL. Both include a 1000 µL setting, but the latter has a higher minimum volume and supports suitable extended-length 1250 µL tips. Confirm tip fit and rated capacity, and choose the range appropriate to your transfers.
Are pipette tips included?
No. Each pipettor option is one pipettor without tips. H6505 (5 mL) and H6510 (10 mL) Halo tips, 100/pk, are available as separate options on this page; order compatible universal tips separately for the other ranges.
Which tips should I use?
MTC Bio describes compatibility with universal tips. Confirm fit and rated capacity. For the larger models, choose the dedicated H6505 5 mL or H6510 10 mL Halo tips, available as options on this page.
Can the user calibrate the pipettor?
The design has a user-enabled calibration port. Calibration should be performed and documented using an appropriate verified method and trained personnel.
Does the ergonomic design prevent injury?
No injury-prevention guarantee is made here. The lightweight design, reduced actuation force and cushioned ejector are comfort features; technique and work scheduling still matter.
Is the carousel included?
Not with an individual pipettor. The H6800-CR six-place carousel stand is available as its own option, and it is included in the H6800-SK starter kit along with the 10 µL, 20 µL, 200 µL and 1250 µL pipettors.
