Twist ties get lost, tape doesn't hold, and grabbing a hot bag out of the autoclave is a burn waiting to happen. BowTie™ Biohazard Bags have built-in drawstring loops that cinch the bag closed instantly and double as a handle for lifting it out of the bin, after processing and cooling, with appropriate protective equipment.
The loops also let the bag vent during sterilization, so steam can reach the load. Pair the bags with a BowTie™ hands-free bin and your lab has a complete, touch-free biohazard waste system.
Bags only, 100/case: A8001R is the 12 gal drawstring bag; A8003R is the 30 gal drawstring bag. Bins only, one each: A8000B (8 gal), A8006B (13 gal) and A8002B (26 gal). No bag-and-bin bundle is listed in these five options.
Use the manufacturer’s named pairings: A8001R pairs with A8000B and A8006B; A8003R pairs with A8002B. Nominal bag capacity is not bin capacity and does not establish fit with unrelated bins. A8001R bags measure 25 × 35 in. (64 × 89 cm).
Choose the material for your process: BowTie bags are 2.25 mil HDPE for 121 °C cycles. For smaller sizes or polypropylene bags rated up to 136 °C, compare MTC Bio autoclave and biohazard bags. The temperature rating alone does not validate a waste-treatment cycle.

Hands-Free
Foot-pedal bins, 8 to 26 gal

Each bag is printed with large biohazard symbols and temperature limit warnings, plus a large white marking area for lab name, date, and contents.
A sterilization indicator patch changes color after autoclaving, indicating process exposure, not proof of validated load sterility.
Instant Cinch Closure
Drawstring loops close the bag in one pull. No wire ties, tape, or knots.
Built-In Handle
The same loops make it easy to lift full bags from the bin.
Safer Autoclave Removal
Allow cooling and use appropriate protective equipment; loops are not thermal protection.
Vents During Sterilization
Loop closure allows steam penetration during the cycle.
Sterilization Indicator
Color-change patch indicates process exposure, not validated load sterility.
Matched Bins
Use the named bag/bin pairings; nominal capacities are not a universal fit rule.

Step on the pedal and the lid lifts. BowTie™ bins keep hands off the lid and waste covered between uses, in three sizes from 8 to 26 gallons.
The printed biohazard symbol identifies the bin; add any labels required by your facility. Just add the matching BowTie™ bag.
Use the manufacturer’s named pairings below, not nominal gallon capacity alone.
Small Bin · 8 gal

Medium Bin · 13 gal
Bin: A8006B, 16 × 16 × 24 in. (40 × 40 × 60 cm)
Bag: A8001R, 12 gal, 25 × 35 in. (64 × 89 cm), 100/cs
XL Bin · 26 gal
Bin: A8002B, 19 × 19 × 33 in. (48 × 48 × 84 cm)

For benchtop and under-bench waste, see our Autoclave & Biohazard Bags in sizes from 0.43 to 12 gallons, rated to 136 °C.
For tips, tubes, and gloves right at the bench, the BenchBin™ puts a covered biohazard bin at arm's reach.
Follow your facility’s validated procedure for closure and steam penetration; do not seal the bag airtight. An indicator color change shows exposure, not validated load sterility. Allow cooling and use suitable protective equipment before handling.
No. A8001R and A8003R are bags-only cases of 100. A8000B, A8006B and A8002B are bin-only options sold individually. Order the matching bag and bin separately.
MTC Bio pairs the 12 gal A8001R with the 8 gal A8000B and 13 gal A8006B bins, and the 30 gal A8003R with the 26 gal A8002B. These are named product pairings, not a universal gallon-size fit rule.
No such rating is specified for these bags. BowTie bags are 2.25 mil HDPE suitable for 121 °C cycles. The separate polypropylene autoclave-bag range is rated up to 136 °C. Bag ratings do not establish bin autoclave compatibility.
No. The patch indicates process exposure; it does not prove validated load sterility. Follow your facility’s validated cycle and required mechanical, chemical and biological monitoring procedures.
BowTie uses built-in drawstring loops and HDPE rated for 121 °C cycles, in 12 and 30 gal bag capacities. The standard range uses polypropylene rated up to 136 °C, with smaller bag sizes and separate stand or set options.
A8001R and A8003R each contain 100 bags per case. Bin variants contain one bin, not a case of bags.
Yes. A8000B, A8006B and A8002B have a foot pedal that opens the attached lid. Select the matching bag separately.
Allow the load to cool and use appropriate protective equipment under your facility’s procedures. Drawstring loops are handles, not thermal protection. Do not treat an indicator color change as permission to handle hot waste or proof that it is sterile.
