BowTie™ Biohazard Bags have built-in drawstring loops that cinch the bag closed instantly and double as a handle for lifting it out of the bin, after processing and cooling, with appropriate protective equipment.

The loops also let the bag vent during sterilization, so steam can reach the load. Pair the bags with a BowTie™ hands-free bin and your lab has a complete, touch-free biohazard waste system.

Buying bags or a bin? Choose the exact SKU

Bags only, 100/case: A8001R is the 12 gal drawstring bag; A8003R is the 30 gal drawstring bag. Bins only, one each: A8000B (8 gal), A8006B (13 gal) and A8002B (26 gal). No bag-and-bin bundle is listed in these five options.

Use the manufacturer’s named pairings: A8001R pairs with A8000B and A8006B; A8003R pairs with A8002B. Nominal bag capacity is not bin capacity and does not establish fit with unrelated bins. A8001R bags measure 25 × 35 in. (64 × 89 cm).

Do I receive bags and a bin together?

No. A8001R and A8003R are bags-only cases of 100. A8000B, A8006B and A8002B are bin-only options sold individually. Order the matching bag and bin separately.

Which BowTie bag fits which bin?

MTC Bio pairs the 12 gal A8001R with the 8 gal A8000B and 13 gal A8006B bins, and the 30 gal A8003R with the 26 gal A8002B. These are named product pairings, not a universal gallon-size fit rule.

Can BowTie bags be autoclaved at 136 °C?

No such rating is specified for these bags. BowTie bags are 2.25 mil HDPE suitable for 121 °C cycles. The separate polypropylene autoclave-bag range is rated up to 136 °C. Bag ratings do not establish bin autoclave compatibility.

Does a changed indicator prove the load is sterile?

No. The patch indicates process exposure; it does not prove validated load sterility. Follow your facility’s validated cycle and required mechanical, chemical and biological monitoring procedures.

How are BowTie bags different from standard MTC Bio autoclave bags?

BowTie uses built-in drawstring loops and HDPE rated for 121 °C cycles, in 12 and 30 gal bag capacities. The standard range uses polypropylene rated up to 136 °C, with smaller bag sizes and separate stand or set options.

How many bags are supplied?

A8001R and A8003R each contain 100 bags per case. Bin variants contain one bin, not a case of bags.

Do the bins have hands-free lids?

Yes. A8000B, A8006B and A8002B have a foot pedal that opens the attached lid. Select the matching bag separately.

How should I handle bags after autoclaving?

Shipping Policy

Orders for MTC Bio products are fulfilled and shipped directly by MTC Bio using FedEx or UPS, with FedEx Ground as the default shipping method unless otherwise specified.

Expedited shipping options (2-Day, Overnight) are available at an additional cost.
MTC Bio only ships to residential or business addresses within the United States—no PO Boxes.
Orders placed after business hours, weekends, or holidays will be processed the next business day, pending product and carrier availability.
Shipping timelines may vary based on product availability, order size, and carrier logistics.

Customers must obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number from Blue Tiger Scientific before returning any item.
Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless otherwise stated.
Opened or used products cannot be returned—only unused items in original packaging will be accepted.
Unauthorized returns (without an RMA) will be refused and returned at the customer’s expense.
Returned items are subject to inspection, and a 20% restocking fee may be applied.
