Rat Plasma With EDTA is a biotechnology-grade biofluid collected from healthy rats and stabilized with ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) to prevent coagulation. This reagent is supplied as a 25 mL aliquot and is ideal for in vitro applications requiring native plasma components, including protein profiling, cytokine quantification, and immunoassay development. EDTA acts as a chelating agent, preserving plasma integrity by binding divalent cations and inhibiting enzymatic degradation.

Researchers use rat plasma extensively in pharmacokinetics, toxicology, and inflammation studies due to its compatibility with rodent models and its rich composition of circulating proteins, lipids, and metabolites. This product has been validated in diverse experimental contexts, including vascular reactivity, immune cell activation, and metabolic profiling. It is also suitable for use in cell culture supplementation, biomarker discovery, and formulation testing. Plasma is processed under sterile conditions, filtered through 0.22 μm membranes, and prepared using Type I ultrapure water to ensure reproducibility and purity.
