Efficient Homogenization in Under 30 Seconds
Capable of homogenizing most samples in less than 30 seconds, this handheld homogenizer handles volumes from 100µl to 250ml. It comes with both 5mm and 7mm generator probes.
Benchmark’s D1000 handheld homogenizer is expertly designed to rapidly homogenize, emulsify, suspend, and disrupt biological samples. Ideal for microtubes, it works efficiently with sample volumes ranging from 0.1ml to 250ml, depending on the generator probe used.
The D1000 operates as a rotor-stator homogenizer, utilizing a variable speed rotor to draw the liquid sample into the generator probe and force it through the slots in the stator, achieving mechanical shearing. This process is repeated, providing thorough shearing and complete homogenization in 30 seconds or less. The powerful 130W motor drives the rotor at adjustable speeds from 8,500 to 30,000 rpm, with six speed settings to match processing needs. A separate on/off switch allows the homogenizer to maintain the desired settings.
Generator probes are available in four sizes:
- 5mm x 50mm for microtubes
- 7mm x 50mm for microtubes
- 10mm x 115mm for 15ml and 50ml tubes
- 14mm x 130mm for 50ml tubes and vessels up to 250ml
The unit includes one each of the 5mm and 7mm generator probes. All probes are made of stainless steel and can be sterilized by autoclaving.
