APERA INSTRUMENTS / PC400 / AI413
Carry pH and conductivity capability in one case. PC400 includes separate 201T-S pH/temperature and 2301T-S conductivity/temperature electrodes, with calculated TDS and parameter-specific calibration in a portable IP57 meter.
Choose AI413 when you need both workflows but not the recording and USB features of PC400S. Connect the appropriate electrode and select the measurement rather than assuming simultaneous dual-channel testing.

The AI413 standard kit brings together the meter, its specified electrodes and the matching calibration supplies. It is not a meter-only order.
PC400 meter, 201T-S pH/temperature and 2301T-S conductivity/temperature electrodes, pH 4.00, 7.00 and 10.01 buffers and 84 µS/cm, 1413 µS/cm and 12.88 mS/cm conductivity standards, carrying case and instructions.
201T-S pH/temperature and 2301T-S conductivity/temperature electrodes
pH 4.00, 7.00 and 10.01 buffers; 84 µS/cm, 1413 µS/cm and 12.88 mS/cm conductivity standards; 50 mL per listed bottle
Carrying case and instructions
START WITH THE SAMPLE AND THE WORKFLOW
Move between pH and conductivity checks with the appropriate supplied electrode. Keep sample preparation and calibration records clear for each parameter.
Use pH alongside EC or calculated TDS to answer different questions about the same solution. Neither reading identifies individual nutrients or replaces the other.
Demonstrate how glass pH sensing differs from conductivity sensing. The two probes require different standards and different storage liquids.
PC400 supplies the 201T-S pH electrode and 2301T-S conductivity cell, not two interchangeable tips. Both use the meter’s 8-pin connection. The display shows the selected measurement with temperature; the kit is not substantiated as simultaneous pH-plus-EC acquisition.
Use pH 4.00, 7.00 and 10.01 buffers for pH work and 84 µS/cm, 1413 µS/cm and 12.88 mS/cm standards for conductivity. Keep each standard clean and never substitute pH buffers for EC calibration.
Use the 201T-S for pH and the 2301T-S for conductivity-derived measurements. Each has a built-in temperature sensor; change the connected probe and measurement rather than assuming simultaneous pH/EC capture.
Keep the 201T-S pH glass hydrated in KCl. Follow the dedicated 2301T-S instructions for distilled/DI water in its storage cap. Do not use a shared storage liquid for convenience.
Choose the data workflow and parameter set, not the suffix alone. S does not mean a different standard probe or automatically better sample compatibility.
A measurement-focused pH and EC/TDS kit. 1-3 point pH calibration. 1-4 point EC calibration. No supported measurement logger or USB function is documented for this standard model.
Timestamped memory, manual/timed recording and USB/PC-Link. 1000 groups per US manual. Up to five pH calibration points. Salinity/resistivity modes added. The standard supplied electrode models remain the same.
Stable-reading indication and automatic HOLD help you capture a reading consistently. Record the result in your chosen workflow. The standard PC400 is not the recording/USB version of the family; choose PC400S when its documented memory and connected-data functions are required.
For USA buffers, start at pH 7.00 and add pH 4.00 and/or 10.01 as appropriate. Use clean buffers, wait for stability and keep pH calibration separate from conductivity standards. The standard model supports 1-3 automatic pH calibration points.
Use suitable points from 84 µS/cm, 1413 µS/cm and 12.88 mS/cm. The recognized 111.8 mS/cm point is optional. Calibrate low to high and document the reference temperature, coefficient and any TDS factor.
Rinse before and after samples, avoid bubbles at the sensor and wait for stability. Keep connectors dry. The meter’s electronic range and compensation interval do not override the supplied electrode’s sample limits.
Keep pH glass in its KCl-based storage system, never pure water. For 2301T-S, follow its dedicated instructions for distilled/DI water in the cap. Do not rub sensing surfaces or improvise aggressive cleaning treatments.
For a dedicated pH routine with a separate 201T-S electrode. ORP needs a separately sold compatible electrode.
For conductivity and calculated TDS. S adds salinity/resistivity readouts and data functions.
For both pH and EC-derived workflows with two supplied probes, used in their appropriate modes.
A pocket tester can suit a different handling preference. Compare the measurement requirements, sensor and recording needs before switching formats; these are alternative instruments, not compatible plug-in accessories.
Alternative format: Apera EC60 pocket conductivity/TDS/salinity tester
Related workflow: Apera PC60 multi-parameter pocket tester
The standard kit includes PC400, 201T-S pH/temperature electrode, 2301T-S conductivity/temperature electrode, three pH buffers, three conductivity standards, carrying case and instructions. Each listed calibration bottle is 50 mL. The power requirement is four AA batteries.
It supports both through the appropriate separate electrodes and measurement modes. Simultaneous dual-channel pH and EC acquisition is not established. The simultaneous display described by Apera is selected parameter plus temperature.
Meter pH range is 0.00-14.00 with 0.01 resolution and ±0.01 pH ±1 digit accuracy. Conductivity extends to 200 mS/cm with ±1.0% F.S. ±1 digit accuracy. Supplied-probe suitability remains a separate requirement.
PC400 is measurement-focused. PC400S adds documented 1000-group timestamped memory, timed recording, USB/PC-Link and salinity/resistivity modes, along with S-series pH functions. Both standard kits supply 201T-S and 2301T-S.
PC400 supports automatic 1-3 point pH calibration and 1-4 point conductivity calibration. The kit supplies three standards for each parameter; the 111.8 mS/cm fourth conductivity standard is separate.
No. TDS is calculated from conductivity using the selected conversion factor. The adjustable factor is 0.40-1.00, default 0.71. Calibrate conductivity and choose a factor appropriate to the established method.
No. ORP requires the separately sold 301Pt-S 8-pin electrode. The pH and conductivity electrodes listed in AI413 are not an included ORP probe.
No. The 201T-S pH glass needs KCl-based storage and must not be stored in pure water. The dedicated 2301T-S instructions specify distilled/DI water in its conductivity storage cap. Keep the two care routines distinct.
Review the PC400 specifications and supplied parts, then return to the price and ordering controls. Blue Tiger Scientific can help you compare the meter, probe and recording requirements for your application.
Meter ranges and compensation intervals describe the electronics, not an unrestricted operating range for the supplied electrode. Match the exact probe and sample conditions to the method.
