SmartReader 96
The Accuris SmartReader 96, available in models MR9600 and MR9600-T, is an excellent addition to any lab regularly measuring concentration or absorbance in 96-well plates. Featuring a 7-inch touch screen, intuitive software, and a graphical interface, these instruments function effortlessly as standalone readers, eliminating the need for an external computer or additional software.
The SmartReader 96 is equipped with 4 popular filters: 405, 450, 492, and 630nm, with an additional twenty-six filters available separately, covering a full range from 340 to 750nm. The integrated filter wheel can hold up to 8 filters at once, which can be selected during programming.
Both models can be operated via the touch screen or a connected mouse. The user-friendly menu interface allows for easy selection of wavelength filters, setting shaking parameters, entering plate layout details, and configuring reading protocols and data calculations.
The MR9600-T model offers precise temperature control, maintaining temperatures from 5°C above ambient to 50°C, ideal for the incubation of plates during processing.
Up to two filters can be used simultaneously for dual measurements, facilitating calculated comparisons. Kinetic calculations are also possible by setting multiple readings.
The SmartReader 96 is designed for standalone use, with all necessary software and programming integrated into the electronics. A convenient USB port allows for quick data file saving to a USB drive, with universal .csv files for easy sharing or transferring to a computer. A data port can be used to connect a computer or basic printer.
The plate layout interface provides a graphical representation of the 96-well plates, allowing for quick and intuitive setup of well contents. Users can label wells as “known standard,” “unknown sample,” “blank well,” “QC control well,” “negative control,” “positive control,” or “empty,” with the ability to highlight and label multiple wells to save time.
Measurement data is immediately available on the screen post-reading, along with interpretations, calculated analysis, and curve fittings.
Additionally, newly available PC software is compatible with Windows computers for remote programming and control of the MR9600.
SmartWasher 96 Microplate Washer for 96 Well Plates
The SmartWasher 96 provides the flexibility needed for various research demands. It can handle full plates, partial plates, and strips with U, V, C, or flat bottoms. This fully automated washer offers multiple aspiration point settings to ensure minimal residual liquid in the wells after aspiration. Parameters such as dispense volume, suction time, soak and shake cycles, and shaking speed can be easily programmed via a large 4.3” LCD display and keypad. The SmartWasher 96 can store up to 100 wash protocols, which can be recalled or transferred between machines using a flash drive.
The washer comes with 2 wash bottles, 1 rinse bottle, and a waste bottle, all equipped with sensors to alert users when solutions are low or when the waste bottle needs to be emptied. An auto-rinse function primes the dispensing tube and wash heads to prevent cross-contamination and clogs.
The 8- and 12-channel manifolds (sold separately) accommodate plates in either orientation. A transparent acrylic shield surrounds the wash area, providing visualization of the plate. The beveled spill well ensures immediate extraction of any spills to prevent cross-contamination.
